This is a question people ask me all the time. What do you like so much about Mika? I find that an accomplishment of those people, since many others haven't even heard of Mika before. To me that's quite insane to hear. Especially when you realize how Mika has changed my life in just a few months time. I tell you, he can do magic! Anyway, back on topic. As I mentioned in the About the Site thread, I saw Mika for the first time on a Dutch television show called Jensen. I can't be bothered tell you all the details once again, because then I would repeat myself and that wouldn't be very interesting to read. Oh getting off-topic again. Well, I was very impressed by him, because he didn't look let alone act like a big star. And if there is anything I hate, it's when people act like they are very important. I downloaded Grace Kelly and I fell in love with the song. I played it over and over until I could dream it. I then decided to go to the local cdstore to get his album. But they didn't have it so I had to cycle (Yeah we cycle here) 8 kilometres to get the album. But it was worth it. I fell in love with all the songs, but I just wanted to know more about the singer behind the album. So, I jumped behind the computer (Thanks to the founders of internet!) and I visited his website. I gathered more information and before I knew it, Mika Fans, the website you are now, was born. But my curiosity kept growing and I wanted to find out more, so that's basically how I ended up at the Mika Fan Club. Without the MFC and all it's amazing members, this site would probably not be like this today. I figure that it would just be a standard page with information about Mika's favorite color. So a huge hug and million kisses to the MFC. I come there everyday, what do you mean addicted? :D Anyway, the only time I've been into an artist like this (Don't take that too literally please :P) was when I was 11. I then was crazy about Justin Timberlake (I still love him too as much as I did back then). Once I become a fan, I always stay a fan (Isn't that the same in love. I guess I'm a fan of monogamy as well). Even when Justin seemed to be disappeared from this earth for 4 (!) years, I still supported him and I will do so with Mika, no matter what things he does in the future! Some people called it the Mika-Hype, but for me this isn't just a hype, it's real. (How emo did that sound?) I almost forgot discussing why I like Mika that much. As I stated before, he's just a down-to-earth guy. He's a real sweetheart to his fans and you can rarely accuse him of saying bad things about other people. He is talented and stays true to himself no matter what. He made so many people around the world get out of their shells and made them feel confident, he showed everyone that it's ok to be who you really are and you shouldn't listen to people who want to change you. Be who you are! And about the sexuality thing, I admire Mika for keeping his private life private. He is not our possession, so we shouldn't act like he is and make him tell us everything. If he doesn't want to tell it, then that's ok right? It's not even relevant to what he does for a living; Making music. Great music. That's what we should be interested in. And ofcourse it's okay to be concerned about the person behind the music, to know what he is up to. But we all want our private lifes to be private. So, once again, I respect Mika for his decisions and I will continue watching and supporting him. Mika, You are the best! |
